Hanging "Closer than you think" exhibition, Bonington Gallery, Nottingham

The hanging of "Closer than you think" took four days. Geoff Litherland, the gallery technician, providing great advice and support. He lit the exhibition in an amazing way that presented the work in a whole new context for me. The worked glowed and many visitors thought the painted and resined panels were light boxes! The photographs were again by Caroline Kerr.

The following images were taken in my studio while I was preparing for my "Closer than you think" exhibition. Taken by Caroline Kerr, they form part of an ongoing project with the photographer documenting my work and working process.

First entry on the blog

This space online is where I intend to displayed some of the artworks I have made as an artist and also show and talk about the work and projects I'm currently producing.

Following a recent exhibition in Nottingham I am currently reviewing images I made about ten years ago. These were destroyed in a studio fire but still exist as photographs. I have had many requests for copies/prints of these photographs and today I decided to get some printed in a limited run as a test. The image with this entry is from a series called Plume and was produced in 1996. The painting now destroyed, was approx. 10'x 5', oil on canvas.
